: this level is composed of 3 large hangars, i bet the Rubicond team had
: problems with invisible lines ( i get them all the time), 2 of the hangars
: are empty (most probably used. Now stuff stops making sense after that, ok
: the control rooms are ok, but what about those ajoining rooms with open
: vent ducts? air plugs in storage room? also i dont exactly remember what
: kind of vessel are in the bay but isint it a lifeboat? in that case the
: vessel must be HUGE! ohwell besides, the levels fun anyway.
The original builds on this level were hellish. The monster count was cut almost in half before the final release and I'm pretty sure there are still major bugs in the physics model that Clund, Scott and I never were able to duplicate again (I once got really angry when all my grenades slowed to a stop on one playthrough, it never happeaned again). Chris had HUGE invisbile line problems in those early builds, and if you hang out under the lifeboat especially you could have gotten trapped forever! oh no! :)
Overall, because of the amount of time I spent playing this level to work out the bugs (and simply beat it) this is one of my favorite levels.
Oh, and we once figured out just how big the Chimera was (Tuesday was fun drinking night for Chris, Scott, Jeff and I.. jk ;) and yes, it was huge. I think we figured it out to be 4/5ths the size of the marathon. In some early chapter screen paintings that we trashed, it totally dwarfed the rest of the fleet- A la Executor in Star Wars.
