Yossarian,

I really have to eat humble pie on this one. Earlier today I citicized someone for failing to look up the RtM website, and here I never thought to do a web search. I just assumed that the Rubicon Team thought this up and that it had some special relevance to Rubicon. By an amazing convergence of galactic karma, I happened to be playing M2 today just for fun and was starting to play Charon Doesn't Make Change when I got an e-mail from Scott in which he noted the connection. Sure enough, there it was - the very same hex code that I'd been racking my brains out over. And I was just starting to wonder if the code could be a graphic image when I saw your post. What do you know? Last major mystery solved.

Thanks for the link - I'll add it to the final version of the Volunteers site shortly.
