: on a semi-unrelated note, I like apple's $99 .mac service plan. I was at
: macworld, saw the keynote, played with all the new toys, and frankly it
: just makes sense. although if I were apple, I would keep offering 10 MBs
: of space and free limited webmail... essentially what you have now.
I couldn't agree with you more. $99/year is actually a very reasonable deal for what they're offering - in fact, it's a bargain for web hosting if you use most of your 100 MB for that (unless there's a bandwidth limit). It's just more services than I need, and a lot of the software and services don't help me since the University has it's own standards (unfortunately complements of Redmond). 10MB would have been fine for me for now, and it would have made it more likely that I'd consider .mac in the future. I think that Apple alienated a lot of people unnecessarily. But they've been down that road a hundred times before and we still remain loyal.
