| In Response To: Re: *Halo Spoiler* The trap. (John Denton) ...Why is it the Forerunner want to get rid of the Flood anyway? As far as I can see, the Forerunner aren't organic, thus cannot be infected by the Flood, so would it not be much better just to watch the Flood wipe out all organic life? But okay, lets just say that the Forerunner are organic, and that the Forerunner on the Halo are just drones made to maintain the Halo, then if the Halos were activated, they would have to wipe out ALL organic life to ensure that the Flood don't spread, and if the Forerunner are organic, they'd wipe themselves out. So its more my belief that Halo was built to wipe out all organic life (the Forerunner under this presumption are not organic) and (going on the whole evolution thing) wipe the slate clean, so that by killing all organic life with enough mass, they will wipe out the Flood, leaving the Ameobas and such to evolve into more substantial beings, but then if the Forerunner had such a weapon that was capible of being selective with what it destroys, why not just isolate the DNA that makes up Flood, and then use the weapon to destroy all life with that DNA? But then again, I'm thinking from an Earthlings point of view, who knows how an organism from another planet grows and evolves? | |
