: I see your point, but the fact is

You're still looking at individual trees, when there's this beautiful forest all around you. Not that this makes you a bad person or anything...

: 1- of course all games are part of the bungie universe, except that bungie is
: NOT a universe. It is a software house that M$ bought.

Of course Bungie is not a universe. They _created_ a universe within which they placed the events that comprise their games. This 'universe' is complete work of fiction. It has no objective reality beyond the disks that it shipped on. Yet it still has rules.

A house is just a pile of wood & bricks. A house is not a home. Unless you _make_ it your home. Even after you fill your home with love & family, it's still just a pile of wood & bricks. Duality.

Light is not just a particle. Or just a wave. It's both. Duality.

A Marathon is just a race. Or is it much, much more? Yes. And _no_.

: 2- the real reality is that the three games are standalone. Furthermore

Yes. Absolutely yes. I have never denied that they all stand alone. All the games have a beginning, a middle, and an end. They all stand alone, *and* they are all part of a single, larger whole.

Go read that last sentence again. Both halves of that statement are true. Both halves are true at the same time. This should be a contradiction, but it's not. What you see depends on where you're standing at the moment in time & space when you look. Duality.

It's not a choice between the chicken or the egg. It's the chicken *and* the egg. Together. Duality.

: three marathon are three because of the success of M1. I am pretty sure

Everyone seems to accept that M1 & M2 fit together, even with the well documented gaps between them. M2 & Infinity fit together, too. They are three, and they are one. (where have i heard this before? it must have been an old dream...i never could stay awake during mass.)The game universes are not identical, but there is a great deal of overlap between them. M2 & Infinity even begin & end in the exact same "places" (events), both starting with "Boomer arriving Lh'owon" and both ending with "Pfhor deploy trih xeem". They fit together, but they're still seperate games. Why is there soooo much resistance to extending this structure to include PiD & Halo?

: Conclusion: Halo could have been M sequel. It is NOT.

Correct. They as two different trees, members of the same species, growing from the same soil.
