No, you're still missing the point.
(Actually, I think the Chief is the chaotic character in Halo, but Durandal is the chaotic character in Marathon. They must have switched roles.) *AND* Halo _is not_ in the Marathon universe because the timelines cant be lined up straight. Both the above statements are true, and they are both true at the same time.
