(dead headless) : i don't think that hydrogen would make them explosive, because as example for : a hydrogen-filled flying object (hindenburg): it was the diesel fuel that : actually caused the many deaths, not the hydrogen which did burn in a : really high darting flame, harming only maybe a few birds. to be : explosive, they'd need oxygen as well, and although they keep exploding on : tc when hit, i don't think that any species in the universe that aims at : reproduction would fill itself with detonating gas, especially not if : close-up and personal with lava. what's the level name with the long : catwalks over the lava? i forgot :( : maybe they are pressure-sensitive like the nightmares (for those it's proven : by in-game experiences afaik) : - d h hindenburg was destroyed by the flamable frabic hydrogen creatures are not at all uncommon, its very easy to produce (current tru water). glow worms use it to regenerate ther glowing enzymes (luciferine) some flying insects use it to help then fly. then again they dont keep it in a big ballon, its held in a spongy mass. so tiks arent acurate in that part. (killing them bursts them) the explosive part might be self-defence, predators attack in close combat so attacking a tick kills the predator too all they have to do then is reproduce faster then the predators ( i think they do it like plants
