The reason it : appears like a small band that 'glows' when you shine your light on it, is : because that small band is set at a 45 degree angle, it's actually the : same surface and texture as the portions of the wall above and below that : band. This can be seen to be true just by standing on the large boulder : sitting near there and viewing it from different angles, but it can be : seen even better if you take the time to rocket jump your way up onto the : ledge. : Just smoke and mirrors. You can see the same material (with the same patterns, but no longer looking like language because they're not in strips) underneath the platform that leads down to the Cartographer. Sorry - I looked into this in December, when it was first posted; realized that it was just the construct of the Halo, showing through. :(
