The simple answer is that Bungie started and developed their roots on the Mac platform, so most of the respectable people in the community who run these great sites come from those golden days. And hence you get a community of sites/users who are mainly Mac enthusiasts.

Are you talking about QuickTime movies or vids? You shouldn't have a problem watching cross-platform movies (i.e. in .mov or .mpg format). I'm not sure about Marathon vids though.
