This is known as reading waaay too much into the story :D Think about it -- would it be fun to know the wole layout of each map before you start? Nope. I'm sure everyone that's played Marathon has at least once used the "Can't figure out where to go, so I'll go and look in those unfinished areas in the automap" technique :D [z]
