That, and the small : chance that you'll start firing on some new enemy only to discover that : you've been carrying around an alien weapon with 3 shots in it. Yep. That is the biggest disadvantage of the alien weapon, they have random loads with no ammo supply indicator. Nothing sucks like whipping the ol' can of alien weapon whoop ass just to blow a smoke ring out the end of it. Nothing to do but tell the startled Pfhor, "...er, I meant to do that", kick him in the nuts, and run away swearing while you fumble with your Next Weapon key. But then the way I use alien weapons, that can only happen when there are other alien weapons laying around or I am shooting at a switch. A switch can't disembowel you with a shock staff. It's a risk I'm willing to take and a decent trade off for "free ammo". In my opinionated opinion anyway. Gary Simmons the Battle Cat
