In Response To: Tempus Irae Volunteers - This is the First Day (Steve Levinson)

: This is the First Day is based on a song by NIN by the same title.

My musical tastes are not comprehensive, and I have to admit I've never even heard the song beyond the snippet that plays over the title screen. I did wind up finding the lyrics so I could determine the ideal path through the level, which did make it somewhat easier to get through with my limited skills.

In any case, you suddenly go from being somebody (apparently) escaping from prison with somebody else imploring you to find your sister to standing in a dungeon... which would prove familiar if you're now the person you were while playing the original Tempus Irae. The sole terminal's intriguing in that, to me it seems to be by Leonardo. He mentions S'bhuth by name and in the past tense, suggesting that it was written more or less after the story told in Tempus Irae's terminals ended. One thing in it I do look at a little peculiarly, though, is S'Bhuth talking about "sluggish and slow to act" "great ancient reptiles." Hasn't he heard about how dinosaurs are now viewed as active and dynamic? :)
