Wow - this is really amazing. I'm trying to help you and am getting flamed for it. (Sigh) I guess I miss the old days of the net when people actually adheared to netiquite.
The issue here is simple. I don't agree with you about M1 being the best. I took you to task in the old thread for errors and inconsistencies in your original post. I also argued why I felt each game in the Marathon Trilogy had its own strengths and weaknesses. I think that that generated a lot of constructive criticism - and quite a few flames. The bottom line is that most of this was healthy and very relevant to the purpose of the Stroy Forum. What happened after that is very typical - people went way off topic and the thread morphed into several different areas unrelated to the original intent. You then chose to bring the thread back to its original purpose by starting a new thread with the original topic. That's well and good. But then Facultas Tempestas decided to go off topic and talk about soundtracks. That, my friend, is hijacking the thread and it's not a very nice thing to do. By the time his sub-thread plays out, your original post will be burried in a whole lot of noise that has nothing to do with your original intent. Maybe you're cool with that, but it still doesn't make it right. If Facultas Tempestas wants to talk about the soundtrack and similarities to Soundgarden, he should start his own thread from scratch. On his behalf, I understand his frustration - no one has paid attention to his earlier posts. That's too bad. Using someone else's topic is jut not the right way to get attention.
