I felt the content was pretty admirable for a mainstream flick, but they managed to shoot themselves in the foot a little by overdoing the philosophical bent in a purely theoretical context. I can understand their desire to make sure that the audience understood an important aspect of the story was the nature and origin of choice, but they could have expressed that more carefully than a handful of contextless speeches from archetypes.
