In Response To: Re: Shuttle Columbia and crew lost (Ernie) : I can't see Nasa or anyone else doing any major orbital missions If we don't keep doing regular shuttle missions the ISS will fall out of the sky. The shuttle was the only means the ISS had to do orbital corrections. So if we take a long hiatus then we're going to have to abandon the ISS. Also, of course, space exploration is the only hope for long term survival for humanity... but politicians can't be expected to understand that reason. |
