: I just saw Ghost in the Shell last night for the first time, and it got me
: thinking a bit about one of Oni's shortcomings: the music.
Well I am neutral about Po7's music. All in all, I felt the staccato techno-pop was appropriate to the game. But, it seems to me the music tracks were just laid down and set to play without much planning.
Halo has really, really, really, really, spoiled me on how music can be completely and seamlessly integrated into a game. The tracks Marty choose to play at key points of the game enhanced the mood and atmosphere _so_ well. It gave Halo that "you-are-in-a-movie" feeling.
I think if we could turn back time and have Marty conduct Po7's performances and concentrate on the music scripting like he did with Halo, people would have had a much better opinion of Oni.
Well, that and if it had multiplayer. ;)
