: A spanish girlfriend I had once, told me that catalán was just like
: castellano, but everything ends with e. Throughout the years, I've heard
: the language, mostly on TV, and it doesn't sound like spanish at all. It's
: more like portuguese, but with even more guttural sounds. And everything
: does NOT ends with e. Now I remember why I broke up with her!
: I never knew that twisted son of a bitch Franco banned that language. Do you
: know why? Also, have you read anything from Jaume Fauster?
Catalan borrows a lot from castellano, and a lot from French (which is my native tongue. So... in castellano, a window is "una ventana," in french it's "une fenetre," and in catalan, it's "un' fenestra." (Sorry, my catalan spelling is atrocious -- I"ve never written it before). I don't remember a lot of words ending in "e," but then again, I've never written the language.
