I had no problemo with speed. I have an eMac 700 Mhz with a GeForce 2 32Mb. Everything worked quite beautifully, as long as there were not more than about six or seven of these buggers on the screen. But I have to admit that UT can do better.
As to the models not being perfect, these were preview models and M will probably opimize them some more, I'm sure...
Oh, and I use classic, OSX is not compatible with me at anything, in fact, I wish apple would never have bothered with this new clumpsy OS at all...
: Do that, and delete the mask references in the MML file. That'll make it
: acceptable speed. Well, OK, it's like playing Moo with a Performa, but
: it's still playable, just. And it's pretty cool to just stare at the
: models.
: Just out of curioisty, why is it that the models are so slow, even on
: high-end machines, whereas games like UT run smooth as silk on mine? Is it
: just slow rendering code within the engine itself, or just primitive
: 3D-Model handling?
: If I had to make a comment about these models, though, it'd be that they
: don't die violently enough. The sprite model Pfhor die almost explosively,
: but these guys just, well...
: Fall over. It's kinda disapointing, after you're used to seeing their chests
: explode in a gout of ichor. : )
