: Ok, most scientists agree that hte univese is expanding outward from the Big
: Bang. But some (most) think that after awhile, the momentum will die down,
: and gravity will reverse the expansion, causeing everything to move
: inward, until finally ALL matter is once again a single point.
Um............. no. Halkings proved that there is a perfect balance and the universe will continue to expand. However, some say over time all matter in the universe may move into a black hole.
If this happened (and if we assume all the energy was in the same place as well) this singularity could well be a "closed universe". However, then we come to the random particle theory, all those little bits from the singularity would sometimes jump out for no reason (we currently understand) and there is a change that enough of then will at any given moment to destroy the black hole.
Hence, there is an even smaller chance that this matter could form an exact replica of the player. However this is very very unlikely(similar to the odds of a pin falling between all the atoms of the earth and coming out the other side only to touch the a point on a battle ship that will destroy it.
A side note. The big bang was possible because there is nothing in our universe. That's correct, nothing. Our universe's ability to destroy itself exactly equals the amount to destroy. So that black hole may, infact disappear. I'm not sure, as I don't know if the energy has to be tapped or whatever. Can someone add some more knowledge to this discussion? As I am sure I over simplified some things.
