	In Response To: Re: 6th glyph and Japanese character (Forrest of B.org) : "Ba" is the Chinese word for "eight", though, and it's my : understanding that Chinese and Japanese are closely related languages. So : if it was "ba", wouldn't it likely mean eight? Howdy, The Japanese writing is based on chinese characters, but the languages are very different. In this case, "ha/ba/pa" are merely sounds with no inherent meaning. Sorta like saying the letter "b" sounds like the word "bee" - a far stretch. Best, Dave
