See this thread: http://forums.bungie.org/fanfest/fanfest.pl?read=716 : It could be that the 'tail' is a directional indicator, pointing us to the : correct outside number, if indeed it works that way. Miguel mentioned he : was going to try and rotate the symbol due to come calculation (he : describes it on the Fanfest board ...somewhere!) to see if it could be : recognized that way. : If it can't, it makes me wonder if it's two digits much like the C & 1 on : the first dial or the myan 74 on the seventh.
