Feel free to peruse the HBO archives for last year...
You'll find that between June 2000 (when Bungie started serious work on the Xbox version) and October 2000 (when Matt, out of sheer pity, started the Weekly Halo Updates), there was NO information coming from Bungie. No screenshots, no status updates... nothing. (Well, okay, Matt answered a few questions on forums during that time period. But geez...)
