I use the shotgun too
I get into wierd habits sometimes. Some times they're good, like always using the fusion pistol on hunters, and useing my fists for about half the monsters in the game (I only used guns in extreame situations when playing through on normal). And sometimes they're not good. For some reason, I just dont use my shotguns. They seem too good to waste on the normal monsters, like the troopers on TC. And when I do get the urge to use them, I use them until I use all my shells!
This meant that at the end of the "durandal" levels i had about max shotgun ammo, and i used shotguns for all the enemies in the last room and still had ammo left over :)
tip for the jeggernaut: if you walk right up next to it, it cant hit you. If you can guess, run before its about to die. OR, you can do it the cool way- shoot it at point blank, and when it dies you run through it, not back away- since you move faster going forwards you'll lose less like than if you back away.
