To get the easter egg, you have to open two "doors" (these doors are actually just platforms). By swimming in the waterfall, you open the first door. Since the waterfall is the trigger, Simon called it a "platform on switch". Not exactly the term I would have used, but whatever.

I remember the ledges being a pain in the ass. I can't remember exactly how I got on them, but I think it involved the assualt rifle and the waterfall. ;-)
