Yes. Marathon 2 was made for Win95, and also runs on 2000. Haven't tried it on XP. If you recently got a copy, try playing M1A1 (a port of the original game to Aleph One, Marathon Open Source), or at the very least read through all the terminals from M1 on the story page; that will give you a feel for where you start.
