In Response To: MARATHON TRIVIA (Alfred Mordeir) : This is just a short break from riddles. No interpretation necisary. : Excludeing your one month prison sentence, and assumeing that levels do
This is something of an unfair question, since the definition of "day" and "night" is a bit hazy. First of all, not all of the game takes place on the same planet (Chapter 5 is on one of the moons, for example). Secondly, we are constantly being teleported, possibly over hundreds or thousands of miles. It's quite likely that we are teleported across the planet's terminator several times, switching us from local day to local night (or from night to day) before the planet completes a revolution. The Marine must have one hell of a case of jet lag by the end of the game :P If you just asked how many day/night cycles there are in the game, the answer would be IIRC 4, not counting the month in prison and our time on Boomer (and using "day followed by night" as a 1). But if you asked how long the Marine actually took to complete the game, I'm sure the answer wouldn't be more than a few hours (again, not counting the month and assuming all levels directly lead into each other). |
