In Response To: Catcher in the Rye and Marathon (Person 1) : Can be compared : Holden Caufield is very similer to Gherrit White : They both have fustrations with society : They both point out sociatal flaws : They both are in pain... : ? However the fear Caulfield has is of growing up and essentially losing his innocence, something that White has already done. Holden is also very hypocritcal and later in the book can't really be relied too much upon as a narrator due to the fact that he's losing his sanity. |
