I don't know if anyone else picked this up. I just got Halo from a local store in my area. There is section in the instruction manual called "About Bungie", here is a cut of the last paragraph. "To us, Bungie is not just a name-it's a way of life. We hope you'll join us. Next stop: world domination!" There also is a footer directly below the "About Bungie" section it reads, "Brothers and Sisters: the time is nigh. There is strength in numbers. Unite and the planet is ours: www.seventhcolumn.org" Here is the whois on that page.
