See below. : This could be especially bad if terrorists plan another attack because of the : bombings, and if more people are drawn in to thier organization. : I fear more attacks. To do nothing is to remain in fear the rest of your life. War was declared on the US and other nations when America was attacked on Sep 11. As is well known, thousands of civilians from here and hundreds of foreign nationals were killed in the attack. If we were NOT to respond with all forms of action (including military) we would certainly be targeted again. Doing nothing will not stop terrorism either here or abroad. Even though terrorism will never be completely eradicated from the world, the terrorists who ATTACKED America last month (and those who harbor them) can and should be brought to justice. The Taliban were given time to comply with our demands (we had the right to make demands since we were attacked) and the Taliban chose its fate by not complying; and by lying and changing its story every few days. It is interesting that no other nation on earth has ever done what the US is doing now: limiting attacks on the Taliban military and other assets and terrorist training camps WHILE dropping food and medicines to concentrations of refugees and others within Afghanistan. Any other country would have bombed that country to bedrock (if they were capable), chalking up collateral damage as tit for tat for the attrocities committed on Sep 11.
