WebBBS generally numbers posts in order, though any deleted posts will leave holes... On this forum, for example, the first 15 posts were test posts, and were deleted before it opened to the public - so this post (number 260) is actually the 245th post on the forum. The general forum at m.org has something over 12,000 posts (the earliest I could find quickly was 101 - dated a bit over 2 years ago).
