In my further quest to maintain pid.bungie.org's zombie status:
* Scientific American has an article about the asteroid impact that killed off the dinosaurs.
* The back story of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion[1] is that a sleeping God crashed to Earth ("First Impact") and split into two beings called Adam and Lillith; this impact was the one that killed the dinosaurs. "Second Impact" occured in the year 2000 in Antarctica, killed about half of Earth's population, and melted the polar ice cap. The remaining half were told that it was another asteroid impact, but it was really the result of a project that discovered Adam and woke him up in an attempt to contain his powers for their uses.
[1] The actual name means "New Century Evangelion", but translation can go a little weird sometimes.
