AO Performance in Panther

Just curious - I've upgraded to Panther and found that AO seems to take a major performance hit, at least on my PB Ti G4. The problem is not uniform in all scenarios, but in some the frame rate is so slow as to make the games unplayable with OpenGL engaged. Additionally, I've experienced crashes when the screen blanks during the initial level load, forcing me to do a hard restart since I can't see anything. I've also found that none of the buttons or checkboxes seem to work in the OpenGL preferences. I've tried trashing the prefs file with only partial and temporary success, and still cannot modify OpenGL preferences.

Anyone else experiencing these sorts of problems? Is anyone running AO in Pather without any difficulties?
