While we're on the subject of Durandal's first return to Earth, this begs another question:
Why did the Pfhor wait to attack Earth?
Think about it. The Pfhor were attracted to Tau Ceti by Durandal, who used a laser to to get their attention. Although Pfhor Prime is very close to Sol - closer than Tau Ceti according to the map shown below, they were unaware of humanity, thanks apparently to Sol's solar wind. But once they attacked the Marathon and Tau Ceti and became aware of the nearby solar system, teaming with potential slaves, why didn't they attack Earth right away? Why did the wait until after Durandal showed up at Lh'owon? We know that they didn't attack Sol in the interim thanks to a number of references in the M2 terminal text - I won't cite them all here - but they chose instead to wait to defeat Durandal. Did they really think that having Durandal on the loose might jeopardize their success in battle? Or perhaps they were bent on vengeance? But they had a huge military that could certainly handle multiple things at the same time, so why wait?
