I've been thinking lately... quite a few movies seem to have Marathon influences... for instance, there's the gun in Minority Report that we discussed, with its WSTE-M style twirly recharge, and having re-watched Run Lola Run recently, I realised that it seems to have elements of the Marathon Infinity storyline - at first glance, it seems a simple Sliding Doors type thing (one tiny difference makes a huge difference in end result) but when you pay attention, each of the timelines in Run Lola Run is separated from the others by a dream sequence, and Lola herself seems to carry knowledge from one timeline to another (for instance, in the first timeline, in which she fails, she doesn't know where the safety on a pistol is; in the second, she does, without anything to suggest that she's had a different past in this timeline (indeed, the premise of the movie requires that all the timelines are identical up to the start of her run)...) Anyone else fancy nominating movies that owe Bungie or Double Aught a drink?
