Inspiration for the colony ship?
Posted By: KillJoyDate: 5/16/03 3:04 a.m.

I just remembered a book I read a few years ago, Carl Sagan's 1993 work "Pale Blue Dot". PBD is all about Sagan's views on planetary exploration and related subjects. Anyway, the point of all this is that in the book there is an "artist's concept" painting of a spaceship, made out of an asteriod, which travels to another planet at sub-lightspeed, with a crew that goes through several generations during the trip. I was playng through on of the Pfhor scoutship levels in M1, and realized that the Marathon looks_just_like_the colony ship in PBD! Could the Marathon storyline have been inspired by this?
