A non-linear version of M2/oo

This falls under the - what if - category. Even though Infinity was designed to present a nonlinear progression of play, the scenario itself is very linear - the player can divert to a few secret levels, but he has no say in which pathway to take next with a few weird, looping exceptions. Even before the roll-out of Infinity, however, the potential for true nonlinearity was demonstrated using the M1 engine with Operation Tantilus. What if M2/oo were made truly non-linear, along the likes of Rubicon or Fell. Consider the possibilities - you could play any way you like, making your own choices and playing the various timelines in any order you chose, with different outcomes at the end of the game. I was wondering if anyone had given any though to combining the M2/Moo levels into a single map and recoding the level flow so that the player could make his own choices? It might even be neat to duplicate some of the levels to fit all of them into the various alternate realities. Copyright infringement issues aside, I think that this would make a very neat, doable project. Any takers?
