Is Durandal Trademarked? | ||

I'm reading a story over cnn about a contest to name two rovers that will be launched to Mars next year. The article say: "Entries must include recommended names for both mobile probes. Students can use names from mythology, fiction or history, but not from trademarked items, living persons or previous NASA missions." Durandal was a sword and Thyco an astronomer. It's safe to propose those names, right? Unfortunately, a lot of people in this forum (including me) won't be able to participate: "The competition is open to children between the ages of 5 and 18 in kindergarten to the 12th grade in U.S. schools. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2003. " So, any american student in here, you know what to do! (you'll have to write an essay explaining why the probes should carry those names, though.)
