Computer Help
Posted By: The personDate: 10/11/02 1:41 p.m.

Not Marathon related, but this is one of few places I know with large amounts of people who know what they're doing (and who are Mac users! 'Course, what windows user knows what he's doing?) I got an upgrade for my old 8100 powermac, boosting it up to about 266 MHz. But it doesn't seem to go much faster, and in the control for it, it says its cache is 177.8 MHz (266.7÷1.5) I'm fairly computer illiterate, so what is this cache? Is it the speed it's operating at? It has a menu for me to switch it to 266.7, but is this what I need to do? I'm not sure if it actually is just going at 177, or if I'm just impatient. If you can help, please respond (in case y'need ta know, it's a maxpowr g3 upgrade) Thanks.
