Yesterday I found a lost Book for holding CDs that came with my first Macintosh. Among the treasures inside of it was a CD with the first Myth: The Fallen Lords movie (the one with no sound for half the movie) and the Obsidian demo (I remember when this game was considered the most visually attractive game ever.) There's also a promo movie for Master Of Orion II, where you can see a bunch of spaceships that look like the Marathon logo.
Here you can see the alien battle cruisers coming out of hyperspace. The small, blue dots on the middle cruiser are the ships that looks like the Marathon logo:

The drop ships are coming out of the battle cruiser. You can see clearly the Marathon logo on the first two drop ships:

It's not an exact replica of the Marathon logo, but close enough. Coincidence?
