Is Durandal really AI? | ||

Durandal and his digital peers are so smart that I hesitate to call them artificial intelligences any more, and let them rise in my estimation to the level of intelligence. They are sentient, transcendant, self-aware, and are capable of wishes and will-power. How can they be less than possessed of real life? Perhaps they have what one could call a spirit? Despair...Rage...Envy. Steps to seeing the need, recognizing the need, and correcting the need. Crucial to intelligence. I want. Durandal, Tycho, have wills. I don't think that Leela does have a will, so Ramancy may be... ...Spiritual Life!!! This would explain why in Minf the stages in the game are Despair, Rage and Envy. It is the player's turn to become possessed of a will and life. To see violence and lonliness in the desert, this is life, the philosopher says. To have a will is life, he says. What do you guys think? Shem |
