A theory about the Wasps and eggs
Posted By: Agent ShemDate: 7/12/02 7:08 a.m.

You know, those wasps don't make any sense if you consider them to just be wild life. Why? Because they appear onboard the Marathon, and the Pfhor ships, and, in Rubicon, the streets of Pfhor Prime.

So I think that they're some kind of Pfhor juveniles, or possible drone males. That they are males, however, would leave Troopers and fighters etc, as females. (Sexy!) But think that in honey bees, the males are little useless weaklings, while the females go out and do battle. Females are "masculine", if you will, but they lay the eggs that will hatch into a new queen. All the male does is mate with the queen and die. Also, spiders (I know they're not insects, purists!) have large fierce females and tiny males.

And to say that to go from winged childhood to bipedal adult is silly, is to ignore that frogs go from fish-like to quadrupedal in the same transition, a complete metamorphosis. Same with beetles and butterflies and probably a billion more kinds of life on Earth -- and other planets. ;^)

The other related thing is that, yes, the wasps could be what hatches out of those eggs. However, what pfhor creature could ever lay an egg that big? Maybe they have a queen, like a termite-ish kind of monstrosity. That would also reenforce my theory that the pfhor are essentially highly developed insects. And it would also make a good gross-out scenario! =^)

What do you guys think?
