In Response To: An interesting question! (Vid Boi)

: I've been wondering this for a long time but I haven't thought of any good
: person to ask. Since the Marathon community is apparently an all-knowing
: single organism, I'll ask it here: if you take two movies, and put them
: together so that every second frame was from the firts movie and every
: other frame from the other movie..... what would happen when you watched
: it?

Depends. Assuming that you used up every frame of both films and making a double length movie by combining them, what you'd most probably see an effect that would be similar so simply overlapping the negatives and watching them both at once. Of course, the action in both of the "films" within your movie would be half speed, considering you'd only be using half of the frames per second.

Funny thing is that movie theaters already rely on persistence of vision; half the time you're sitting in your seat you're in total darkness. This is because the projector covers the light just as the film frames move so that you don't catch the space between the frames or the motion of the film. Of course, you never notice because the human brain can't register the flashing at that frequency.
