Heck yeah! All that was what made M2 my favorite in the series. Nothing brings me back to the good old days like hearing that loon ambient sound. Hearing machinery, or explosions, or animals but the finishing touch on the game's atmosphere. The textures in M2 were also instrumental in making it fantastic. They had color, and weren't muted dull metal and such. Playing with color in video games can be risky business, but Bungie made it look like child's play. Remember the colors in "Ex Cathedra" and "All Roads Lead to Sol"? They set the mood entirely.
