Marathon and Deus Ex similarities | ||

Is it just me, or is Marathon and Deus Ex have some similarities? Like Daedelus, that resurrected A.I. who informs you of your mission objectives over your info-link? Kinda reminds me of another game that did this also. Coincidentally, that A.I. also had a name that started with a D. ^_^ And the MJ12 commandoes are eerily reminescent of the Pfhor Hunters. First time I saw one (in the Lucky Money club) I thought it was a Mother of All Hunters. (Hey, it was dark in that club!) I summarily whipped out my LAW and blasted him to oblivion, unfortunately taking out adjacent civilians and myself. Are there any other games (other than Marathon) that uses computer terminals as a plot-progressing device? So far, I have only seen this in Warren Spector games (e.g. System Shock 2, Deus Ex, et cetera). Vale, amici, Jonathan Bahamon Post Scriptum: Deus Ex also has a fair amount of Latin in it. Just like Marathon. I'm getting awfully nostalgic about Marathon while I play Deus Ex. |
