I don't know about this poll. Most of these aren't even villains from a literary standpoint. I mean to characterize a villain you useally think of something that directly apposes a protagonist, and usually is one whith whom the protagonist can reason or communicate with.
: Muller (PiD) - Shot his own men
Muller never really does anything to you personally. In fact he's very helpful toward you mission, along the lines of provideing valuable information.
: The Sleeping God (PiD) - Destroyed Earth in a timeline
You never confront the dreaming god directly. And the apperitions it creates are the product of its imagination, and not directly created for your destruction. Let's not also forget that the DG may verywell be responsible for the rise of human civilization (Killed the Dinosaurs)
: Durandal (M1) - Started the Human-Pfhor conflict
Sure Durandal's a Manipulative bastard, but he's our manipulative bastard. and we love him for it.
: Bernard Strauss (M1/M2) - The man behind the Conspiration
We never see or here from Strauss, and anything he may or may not have done is not our concern.
: Tycho (M2/Infinity) - Helped the Pfhor just to get his revenge
Now this is a definite villain. and one of the better ones. He's working directly against you (In M2 at least), but still takes time out of his buisy schedual to call you up and taunt you.
: Tfear (M2/Infinity) - Released the The W'rkncacnter
Again this is another good example of a classic villain for the same reasons
: The W'rkncacnter (Infinity) - Destroyed the Universe in a timeline
Like the DG you never confront it or them directly. Although it is your primary objective in ? to stop the W'rkncacnter, they aren't specificly out to get you.
: Mjolnir Recon 54 (Infinity) - He actually killed Bob
Obviously you can't be your own antagonist. It doesn't matter if he killed Bob or Pfhor he did it to save the universe, that's the price you pay I guess.
: The Flood (Halo) - Like space ebola, only worse
The flood are more of a force of nature that a villain (By the way, where the hell are the covenant in this?) They are indeed an obstacle in your quest but not in direct opposition.
: 343 Guilty Spark (Halo) - He's even more crazy than Durandal
343GS is definately the Baddest Bungie villain, that is if by BADDEST you meen the most lame, stupid ass villain there is. He is the only indevidual in Halo fighting in direct opposition to you, and seems to be on talking terms with MC. Although his diobolical villainy is somewhat dampened by the fact that he's a total GAYWAD.
: Alex Seropian - Sold Bungie to Micro$oft
I got nothin to say about thiosone, mainly because I'm a Xbox owning Hypocrite. But one could easily make the case that If Mac gameing is a hero Seropian is a definite villain, (next to Bill Gates of course)
