Marathon like symbols in Halo...

I was playing HALO yesterday and got up to a underground level where you are moving through some tunnels/chambers.
I was wasting some baddies when something caught my eye..
In On the wall there were symbols.
Varients on the Marathon symbol but not actually the symbol.
Well just mentioning it..
Has anyone else seen symbols like Marathon's??
