You might want to try e-mailing Matt Soell at Bungie (msoell@bungie.com, I think); he's been helpful with such things in the past (as long as you ask nicely). Also, if you have a decent computer and a broadband connection, you might want to try Aleph One (source.bungie.org) and M1A1 (bighouse.bungie.org/m1a1/), which is basically Marathon 1 updated to run on a more advanced version of the Marathon 2 engine (and doesn't need a serial number!).
