In Response To: Re: The question many people who read this ask: (:: Beer Can ::)

: Telengard was a game released, if I remember correctly, as a thing called
: "Rogue", or was it "DND"? Whatever the lineage, it was
: played over mainframes back in, like, 1980-ish?

: If my facts are straight, Telengard evolved from that incarnation, and was
: available for several different kinds of computers.

: From a company called Avalon Hill.

: It was a simple dungeon romp, and not much more. Incredibly addictive...even
: now. Had a surreal quality; a strange, empty, infinite feeling.

What it's like NetHack? That game was pretty cool...but it had random maps...I still play it sometimes on my SE/30...

: My stab at this game was on the mighty box that was Commodore-64. No fancy
: floppy disks for me, either, man...it was DataSette all the way!

Go Commodore-64! Mine is still hooked up to the TV I think. I have a C128 too, with the original box and manuals. And they laughed at me when I kept hiding it from the 80s removal trolls! Well who's laughing NOW!!

: I'm sure you'll be waiting eagerly, losing sleep, eating poorly, and biting
: the soft flesh between thumb and index finger...

Wow, I've never tried that before! It really kicks ass! Thanks, now I'll have something to do whenever I'm bored! =)

For thoes who are going to say I'm just babbling, there is actually a question in this reply that I want answered: what it's like NetHack?
