The glyphs are quickly becoming an obsession of mine. I ran a few numbers. Basically, take the total of each glyph and divide it by 8 (the number of terms). Here's what comes up:
1: 328/8=41
2: 275/8=34.375
3: 179/8=22.375
4: 276/8=34.5
5: 171/8=21.375
6: 224/8=28
7: 291/8=36.375
Add all those numbers up, and you get 218. Add 2+1+8, you get 10. Divide 218 by 2, and you get 109. Add up 1, 0 and 9, you get 10, again.
Notice Bungie's obsession with the .375 decimal. .375 is equivalent to 3/8. The only other decimal, .5, is 4/8. Add those two up, and you get 7/8. Now, multiply 3/8 by 4, and you get 1.5. Add the remaining .5, and you get 2.
41+28=69
Is someone at Bungie slightly perverted?
Now, let's try something else. Let's add up the single numbers in each term and see what we find.
1: 13 (M)
2: 14 (N)
3: 17 (Q)
4: 15 (O)
5: 09 (I)
6: 08 (H)
7: 10 (J)
Add those up, and you get 86. 8+6=14. Now, 8/6=2. Divide 14/2, and you get 7. The letter next to the number is its corresponding alphabetical letter. Maybe someone will get something I didn't with those.
Let's see the differences between the numbers.
Difference between terms 1 and 2: 1
Difference between terms 2 and 3: 3
Difference between terms 3 and 4: 2
Difference between terms 4 and 5: 6
Difference between terms 5 and 6: 1
Difference between terms 6 and 7: 2
Add those up, and you get 15, which is the sum of 6+9, and 69 is the sum of 41+28.
Also, if you download the glyph GIF, you'll see that its URL is http://www.bungie.org/images/glyphs.gif. However, go up one directory with Interarchy or another FTP client, and you won't find a file named "glyphs.gif" in the "images" directory.
