I certainly wanna get this. I was hoping Halo Anniversary would have been a full remake using the Reach branch of the Blam engine as was hinted at in early Xbox 360 magazine coverage teasing the idea of CEA until the fact it was going to be a remaster instead was confirmed.

People moan about ruined artstyles and while in other remasters & remakes that is a valid complaint such as in the CEA devs recent work on Tomb Raider 1-6 Remastered, Crystals Tomb Raider Anniversary, the gamecube remasters of Dreamcast Sonic games and Half Life Source, in Halo's case (and Deus Ex's as well) honestly I don't see too much of a difference in CEA at least: I see both Halo 3 & Reach styles overlaid in Halo 1 to give us the best of all worlds.

If anything, the only true parts that look really bad are making the ring's curve harder to see in levels like Truth & Reconciliation, foiliage and new geometry shapes that's "not actually there" gets in the way when trying to snipe sometimes and Saber never learned not to be hit or miss with the lighting as of Tomb Raider RE either: when it looks good it looks really good but a lot of the best lighting effects from the original are gone including changing dark areas to brightly lit rooms, rendering the torch useless (magnesium flares in Tomb Raider's example).

The change to unreal over Blam isn't a dealbreaker either as honestly some builds of both Unreal & Renderware feel like Halo 2's version of Blam, like the 2001 DNF build of the former & 2005/2006 build of the latter. It's pretty cool looking from the trailer alone and the new voice acting isn't bad.

Also the original style isn't always good: Ultima games are begging for modern remakes like the fan remakes of two of them that were done in the form of Dungeon Siege mods as 99% of the originals are ugly, unplayable garbage, Crash Bandicoot 1 (not the N-Sane version) is only really fun when emulating as the save system sucks and the gem requirements are taking the piss, and of course Marathon 2 & Marathon Infinity's original sprites & textures suck balls compared to the XBLA ones & XBLA style fan texture pack for Infinity.

Plus Cortana pronounces data correctly this time.
